Kate LaMere, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the School of Art and Design, East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina. She teaches graphic design at all levels, and is interested in sustainability and graphic design. Her work has been published in the Big Book of Green Design, Packaging Design Magazine, and has received an American Graphic Design Award from Graphic Design USA. Her artists' books have been juried into numerous exhibitions, and won the bronze award for fine art in Creative Quarterly. In addition to maintaining an active professional practice, Kate conducts qualitative research about the nature of the profession of graphic design.
